Introducing Prineville Chiropractor, Dr. Tobin M. Panattoni, Chiropractor

I was first introduced to chiropractic about 18 years ago. My wife had fallen at work and she pursued the standard medical model for her care (pain relievers, muscle relaxers, and physical therapy), you know “drug ‘em and stretch ‘em”. This did not work for her, and she eventually went to a chiropractor. She received almost immediate relief from her pain, and she recovered without the use of all of the prescribed drugs.

Not long after that I was spending a lot of time at my desk at work suffering from low back pain and neck pain. My wife suggested that I go to her chiropractor. I eventually agreed and he was quickly able to resolve my pain, again without drugs or surgery. Not long after that, my wife suggested that I should become a chiropractor. I thought she was joking at the time, but it turned out to be very prophetic.

Jump forward 14 years; I realized that the career path that I had chosen was getting me nowhere. I had been slaving away in the semiconductor industry since my graduation from college, and “survived” the industry UPs and DOWNs. I became very frustrated with my last job as a quality control engineer and with the management at the company. This finally pushed me to investigate other careers.

My investigation led me to Western States Chiropractic College. I was impressed with the education that Western States provides. I needed to complete biology, psychology, American history, and English pre-requisites to qualify for enrollment. I was able to complete these requirements in less than 6 months. It seemed that this career change had already been prearranged since all of the pieces fell into place.

I entered Western States in the fall of 2004 and quickly realized that I needed to relearn how to study and take tests. These were activities that I had not done for almost 20 years. I eventually graduated from WSCC cum laude in December 2007 with a doctorate of chiropractic. As I completed my education, I realized that I wanted to pursue a career where I took care of the whole patient, not just the spine.

When I started looking for places to work, I was applying to places all over the country. At that time, I was completing my internship with a doctor in Hillsboro, Oregon who introduced me to a friend of Dr. Hanes. He told me that Dr. Hanes was thinking about hiring a doctor to help him in his office. I contacted Dr. Hanes and I was fortunate to be invited to observe his clinic here in Prineville. I was impressed that his model of patient care closely modeled the care that I wanted to provide my patients.

I eventually was in a position to choose an office that offered a more traditional chiropractic spinal care model or the total Wellness care provided by Dr. Hanes. I followed my heart and chose joining Dr. Hanes in his clinic. I am very happy with my decision, and I hope to be an asset to his office, providing complete patient wellness care here in Prineville.

I am married to my beautiful wife, Linda. We have two boys together and three foster kids, all boys. We have been in Oregon for the past eight years, and are looking forward to moving to Prineville.

Dr. Hanes Asks some important questions of interest to Prineville residents - Chiropractor Prineville Dr. Hanes Asks...

Will chiropractic adjustments make my spine too loose?
No. Only the spinal joints that are fixated and "locked up" receive attention. The occasional spinal joint that moves too much is passed over so weakened muscles and ligaments can strengthen and heal.
Why do so many drugs require a prescription?
Because they can be dangerous? I chose a chiropractic career specifically because it avoids artificial means of pain relief. Our Prineville chiropractic practice attracts health-conscious families that prefer a safe and natural solution. Ready to get started? Call our office today.
